Safety

Main content start

This pillar is dedicated to pioneering cutting-edge methodologies to guarantee the safety of emerging mobility technologies, such as autonomous vehicles, and novel mobility paradigms such as Autonomous Mobility-on-Demand. It is crucial that such innovations do not compromise the safety, health, and overall welfare to society.

Achieving this goal requires the development of entirely new approaches to evaluate and uphold the safety of AI-driven physical systems and complex, largely automated socio-technical systems on a large scale. This not only entails ensuring the physical safety of individuals, but also safeguarding against potential societal impacts and ethical considerations inherent in the adoption of these technologies.
